🪜 One Step At A Time

Last week I had the chance to sit down and talk with Chris as he is undergoing a similar rebranding phase for his business.

Talking to someone in a similar situation and voicing my concerns was extremely helpful.

Two key takeaways:

• There isn’t a right or wrong answer

I needed to hear this from someone else. Whatever decisions I make now, in reality, hold minimal value in the long run. There is little to no risk associated with my decisions, and I always have the opportunity to ‘go back’ and try a different route if the first doesn’t work out. We can all benefit from hearing this from time to time. It’s all about embracing the journey you have.

• I have got time

This was an important reminder. I don’t need to have everything figured out right now. All I have to focus on is the next step that helps me ‘climb the mountain’. I think this is something many of us forget and can often cause inaction or delay in getting things done. It’s an easy trap to fall into.

• Photoshoot: 

So I have been trying to get better pictures for all my social media as I am unhappy with the current ones. It’s just been difficult setting times with the student photographer, and the first set of photos wasn’t great. We have another slot booked for this Thursday. I hope it goes well 🤞🏾

• Logo and Branding: 

I have knuckled down exactly what I want to do for the next 4-6 months (more in next week’s newsletter). I have decided on my colours and theme as well. However, I am struggling with creative ways to write ‘SG’ as a logo. I would appreciate it if you hit reply with any creative ideas you have! This is the only design that is kind of ok so far 🫠:

• Website: 

So, I have decided to hold off using Ghost for my website until early/late August as I want to do it properly with the input of a real web developer. In the meantime - I am launching a temporary website using Carrd which should be up tomorrow or no later than Thursday!

• Clients:

Amongst all this mayhem, I have managed to secure another client! This was way ahead of schedule and happened sooner than I expected. It highlights the importance of flexibility and how fast-paced things can sometimes be. Be ready for anything 😎
