😩 New Academic Year

Tomorrow is the start of placement for 4th year. Extremely nervous particularly with juggling the newsletter, and other responsibilities. I have planned and prepared LinkedIn content to go out soon over the past few weeks and hopefully it works!

I really want to use this newsletter to briefly highlight the value of who you surround yourself with and mentorship, I think the phrase ‘you are the five people you hang out with’ or to that extent really rings true. I think mixed in with that, it’s important to cultivate relationships and find good mentors to support you on your journey. The latter is something I have really focused on during the summer, great mentors are few and far in between in my experience.

I highly recommend using LinkedIn as a platform to connect with those who’s footsteps you would like to follow or aspire to be as, and be direct where possible. I have had great success with this and it’s singlehandedly contributed to a lot of the opportunities that have come my way.
