Show how you create value.
Hey everyone,
I often find myself on calls either trying to close clients or negotiate better deals, and the best way is to show your clients how you create value for them and their business.
I also talked about closing more clients here, where I discussed how important it is to share your knowledge for free (yes, that means all your knowledge) but to sell the implementation of that knowledge. At first, it may sound weird, but there is a distinct and subtle difference between sharing your knowledge with a client and implementing the same knowledge for a client.
And whilst the idea to show clients the value you create if they hire you or buy their product seems straightforward and easy, it is often missed when on the call.
A trick I have often found to work successfully is creating a simple infographic of what I provide, where my services would be implemented, and how that can lead to increased XYZ for the individual or business. Whilst the initial energy for an infographic may seem like a lot, it is paid off with a successful client call. It makes it easier for the client to visualise and see what you bring to the table.
And even before that, it is extremely important before you join the call, send the email or text that you are clear about what value you are providing. Another example maybe when you are hoping to negotiate better rates, ensure you highlight how you will be bringing more value to the table or how you will be improving your services to justify the higher rate you may be asking for.
