Hey everyone, today’s email is all about building authority in your ‘niche’ and its importance. I, unknowingly, was missing out on this crucial piece.

💭 The Big Idea  

Authority means trust. You want to gain your audience's trust by ‘building in public’ and providing evidence. I have been sharing advice on how to level up your side hustles without disclosing my own side hustle.

How can you ‘trust’ my side hustle advice as a reader if you don’t know where and how I have implemented the advice myself?

The key to answering this for any of us is providing evidence and sharing what we learn.

An example of when I did it correctly: my newsletter about turning comments into followers last week included evidence for my framework, i.e. I had tried and tested it myself before sharing it with all of you.

📝 Your Action Item:

  • Provide evidence where possible for the knowledge you share

Your audience wants your expertise but wants to see your results too. Stick to this process. Over time, you will naturally have potential clients reach out and become the ‘go-to’ expert in your niche.

All because of:

  • Evidencing your methods

  • Building in public

  • Building trust 

It’s a no-brainer but easily overlooked. Don’t miss out on doing this - the long-term rewards are invaluable.

This week’s topic was something I was stumped on myself. I kept asking myself that I am writing a newsletter where I share tips on how to grow a successful side hustle which is great, but how do I validate it? How do my readers know this has been tried and tested? It was so important for me

So to clear up the air:

My side hustle → copywriting/social media focused on healthcare

My newsletter → sharing strategies that are working for my side hustle with you to level up your game

Making this clear to you and me this week was of paramount importance.

If I am honest, I am reading through this at a snail’s pace. So much value in how to craft the perfect offer for your client - entrepreneurship is all about selling. This book teaches you how to sell and I am already looking to put into practice what I have learnt so far. A must-read for anyone.
