⚙️ Fail fast, fail often.
Key learning from Socius.
Hey everyone,
This week’s key learning is from Socius Health, a company I co-founded to focus on marketing in the health and wellness space. Unfortunately, we are winding down.
The biggest one for me has been to fail fast and fail often. This includes founding a company in the first place, as it went against all my solopreneur principles. Founding a company has definitely been an experience in appreciating how to work alongside a bigger team than when I was working on my own. It has also included appreciating how to represent a company brand on a bigger stage and the added ‘pressure’ it brings as you have to think about every decision twice.
While we did have success at Socius, it was inevitably short-lived due to its unsustainable nature. I definitely learnt the value of not jumping into new ideas and better controlling my bias for action.
Working on Socius was a positive experience, as I developed new skills and met individuals I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. Finally, there is much to be said about the experience gained from running a day-to-day business alongside everything else. This was a great opportunity to fail at multiple things and learn what works best and how and better to fail early rather than later!
See you all next week!
Cheers,
Sanay
